Rutland Water Fly Fishing Lessons & Guiding
Beginners
If you are a beginner and want to learn to fly fish from a boat or the bank, Malcolm will teach you the two basic fly fishing casts, the Overhead cast and the Roll cast.
Then if you want, Malcolm will take you out in a boat to catch your first trout. There will be plenty of time to discuss tackle or techniques and any fish you catch will be cleaned and packaged for you to take home.
Improvers
More experienced fly fishers may want expert help to improve their casting so that they get amongst the fish. Casting is about techniques, not strength, coupled with the correct tackle.
There is no reason why any angler, male or female, able bodied or disabled, cannot learn how to cast at least 25 -30 yards and farther.
Guiding
Experienced fly fishers might just want a day's guided fishing for trout with a local expert. Guides know their water inside out and have been successful specimen or competition fly fishers. They want you to succeed and will do their best to put you on the fish and show you how to catch them.
If you are one the growing number of experienced anglers who want to fly fish for pike, Rutland and Pitsford offer some of the best opportunities in the UK. Our services include a day on either of these waters, click here for more details.
